Homage…

I am excited to kick off a creative new year with a group photography show at Toby’s Feed Barn in Point Reyes Station…

Each photographer was asked to pay “homage” to something and I chose to pay “homage” to the amazing women I have been lucky to photograph.

We would love for you to come celebrate with us this Sunday….

I want to send a special thank you to: Michael for bringing us all together, Jude for hanging my photographs while my family and I were crossing the country, Mary and Nicole Fassbinder for the amazing frames, Sean at Light Waves for facillitating the printing, Tyler for the awesome postcard, and Arann for everything else.

Thank you,

My new favorite day of the year…

For a photographer, there is almost nothing more fun than getting to spend a day with people you really like and playing dress-up in a beautiful location. Over the years, starting in middle school, I have had several hilarious “fashion” photo shoots staring myself and my friends… which would be a funny blog post someday if I can find the prints… and if my friends won’t disown me after I share. But last year I experienced my first ever (paid) fashion shoot with a real model (and dear friend) for Susan Hayes Handwovens and I was giddy the entire day.

So I was very excited to get the email from Susan Hayes that we were going to do it again this year. Our day of fashion fun was yesterday… the first not-a-cloud-in-the-sky or fog-on-the-horizon day in Tomales in months. I was a little disappointed because I do love photographing in the fog… but the sun was pretty nice too, and it helped that we had access to incredible locations including an Audubon Research site and the Marshall Store.

Now my only problem is editing… when everything is so beautiful it is so very hard to choose just one…

Thank you Susan, Jack, Aimée, Mariah and Josh. I had so much fun and I can’t wait until next year.

A Day in Point Reyes with Susan Hayes…

I spent the whole day playing in Point Reyes today with three amazing women, and one very helpful man. The purpose of our playing was to create a new collection of photos for Susan Hayes to use to promote her store in Point Reyes Station.

Conditions were perfect.

We had the dream team of talent with: Mariah the gorgeous model, Aimée the fabulous stylist, Susan the director and artist extraordinaire, and Jack the debonair car-moving paparazzi. The locations were so fantastically diverse. And the fog came and went exactly on schedule.

We had so much fun that it made me think that maybe, just maybe, I could get used to a little more fashion photography in my life.

It was fun getting to know Jennifer and Ramsey during our photo shoot and I can’t wait for their wedding in August. Thank you to the Green Girls, who recommended me as a photographer.
