Beauty…

gene-012209-610

I saw Genevieve last summer while she was working in a cafe near my house and I immediately wanted to photograph her, but I was too shy to ask.

Luckily, my stock photography partner, Jude, also noticed Genevieve when she visited the cafe and she was not shy about asking Genevieve if she would model for our stock photography business, and Genevieve agreed.

I finally got to meet and photograph Genevieve last Wednesday. The three of us went and played in the mud once the rain finally stopped.

It was so much fun to just play.

We played with dresses, with umbrellas, with rain coats, with movement, with cars, with braids, with facial expressions and with lots and lots of mud. Genevieve was such a beautiful model and so much fun…  we can’t wait until it rains again.

Jude and I are always looking for more people to play with us for our stock photography project, so if you would like to join in the fun then please let us know.

15 minutes of Cute Baby Faces…

Congratulations to our friends Susannah and Rich on making a super cute baby. Elena was born on May 16th and has been keeping them busy and entertained ever since. We invaded their get-away to the Bay this week and arrived just in time for chocolate cake, the sunset, and Elena’s 15 minutes of awake time before feeding and then going back to sleep…. we have good timing. This was our 15 minutes of Elena…

Waking…

Inflating…

And she’s Up!

Slipping back to the happy place.

Breaking point.

Gone.

I’m Back… and happy about it.

I am back from London and trying to climb out of my photo editing pile. I have lots and lots and lots of photos to work my way through… but in the meantime I am trying to balance my computer time, with some fun time. And this morning, although I promised myself I was going to work all day, I couldn’t resist an invitation to breakfast in Inverness to visit some of our friends and their new baby.

I wasn’t intending to take photos… it was just supposed to be a visit, but as soon as Edison woke up from his nap… without a word, Arann went to the car and came back with my camera… and so… I just couldn’t help it… but come on, how could you not take photos of this kid?

And really, I have a good excuse, he is literally the only baby boy I know. All of my friends and friends of friends are having girls…. so I needed some baby boy photos…. and these are some of my favorites.

This is Edison having his second plum ever…. fresh summer plums make for very happy and messy babies.

How to make a baby smile…

Yay, we did it!

And wow, was it worth it… this little one might possibly have the cutest smile ever. If there is a baby near you, spread the word that I am back in the baby photo business and so so happy about it.

flying to america…..

…..for spring break….after three months in london, I am happy to return, to test my new skills acquired from my ma course in photojournalism and to soak up some warm california sun.
