Nothing but love…

Graham and Janet are getting married and I am lucky enough to photograph their wedding this summer.

They wanted to have engagement photos for announcements. Graham, who is an emerging photographer, said that he tried to set the camera up and take their own engagement photos with a remote, but he said it was harder than he thought to get the photos to look natural.

So we made a date in Golden Gate Park, and we did a quick one hour engagement shoot with their new love, Jasmine.

Our mini-photo shoot was just enough time for us to get to know each other a little better, and for them to practice being in front of the camera, and for me to capture natural photos of them being in love, with each other… and with Jasmine.

And then Jasmine had enough of the love…

3…. You get to practice being photographed during intimate moments, which you will soon have to do many many times as people hit their wine glasses with their utensils, signaling for you to kiss, over and over again at your reception.

4… You get to know your photographer, who will be following you around and documenting those intimate moments, on the biggest day of your lives.

5… You get to have lots and lots of cute photos of just the two of you, right before your lives change forever.

It was fun getting to know Jennifer and Ramsey during our photo shoot and I can’t wait for their wedding in August. Thank you to the Green Girls, who recommended me as a photographer.

…thank you for making my best friend (since 5th grade) so happy. I am so excited to be a part of your celebration in March, and I hope you always make each other smile as much as you did today.

Engagement Photos and Haiku’s…

Meghan and Tom wanted engagement photos because they did’t have any photos of just the two of them together. And that made me very happy because…

it gives us time to get to know each other better
I get to see how they photograph
they get used to me hanging around and documenting their every move
and we get to play without having to worry about time constraints, like on the day of the wedding.

So we met in San Francisco at the Ferry Plaza where we warmed up with baguettes and swing dancing in the bright sun.

Then we made our way to the Golden Gate Bridge where the fog was playing at the edge of the sun, which made for great light and cold photos.

Meghan and Tom were good sports and open for anything, even dusty old phone booths. And they were perfectly happy to be told to “get close” and “snuggle in” because it gave them a chance to talk about haiku’s and laugh.

But my favorite photos of the day were at the very end. We were all more comfortable with each other, the wind was blocked by the tress and the grass was glowing green… everything was perfect.
