Last year I offered Farm Family Photo Shoots at Windrush Farm and we had so much fun…
That we are doing it again this year. 
Sessions are 45 minutes and include 10 high resolution digital files of your choice.
Additional images will be available for purchase.
We recommend wearing clothes & shoes you don’t mind getting dirty…
And bringing a colorful blanket to spread out in the grass.
While we will do our best to take photos with baby animals…
They are baby animals, so we can not guarantee they will always cooperate…
But we can guarantee that we’ll have lots of fun on the farm…
And you’ll have lots of cute photos to prove it.

Our first ever Farm Flower Photos with Chloris Floral and Grace and Gather at Windrush Farm was so beautiful, we can hardly stand it…
Outside the barn was crazy with rain and hail storms, but inside our barn was like…
We had so much fun that we would love to do it again.
At another farm. In another state. With different animals. And with lots more people. WE are OPEN to anything. If you’d like to play with flowers on a farm, please send us a message and let us know.

As photographers, we spend so much time working hard all by ourselves.
So I wanted to create a space where photographers can create, share, learn and play together.
And in 2013 we hosted our first Farm Photo Workshop.
After two successful years of providing space for other people to play and learn,
I realized that I wasn’t creating space for myself to play and learn as well, because I was too busy hosting.
This year I wanted to play and learn too.
So I changed it up.
Instead of hosting a workshop… I hosted a playshop.
Instead of one person teaching: we were all teaching and we were all learning. 
It was tricky hosting and photographing, there are definitely things I would do better next year. 
But it was really fun.
And I am more inspired than ever to try new things… 
To collaborate…
And to play.
I hope I always make time to play.

And that means lots of cute baby faces.
And lots of proud mom faces too.
Some of the moms I helped deliver when they were born… like the sheep named Paige, who is standing above. I helped deliver her on my first night living on the farm, five years ago.
It is funny to compare what she and I have both done over the past five years… she has probably given birth to eight lambs, whereas I have gone to London, gotten my master’s degree and gotten married.
I remember when I lived on the farm, I wanted to start a woman’s movement for these girls. I tried to tell them to: Run. Go. I told them there is a big world out there and they don’t have to spend their life being pregnant.
But by the time fall would come around again, they must have forgotten everything that I told them. Because there they’d be, standing at the fence, heads hanging low and panting heavily at the ram on the other side, who was breathing just as hard as he eagerly waited for his glorious day to come.
So the lambs are here again, and they are learning how to jump while I am learning video…
Melissa and Kevin got married at Windrush Farm, a place very close to my heart.
It is the farm where… I fell in love with my husband, where I lived for a year and a half in a barn and learned how to milk a cow, collect eggs, and help sheep have their lambs, and where I photographed my very first wedding five years ago.
So it was really fun to photograph another wedding there, and to think about all that I have done and learned in the last five years. But one reason why I like photographing at Windrush Farm so much is because the light is amazing… both inside the house and outside of the house. And the secret to getting good wedding photographs is choosing a place with good light.
It helped that Melissa and Kevin had their ceremony at sunset. They made that decision to honor their Jewish traditions, but I like to think they made the decision to help out their photographer. Regardless of the reason, it was so much fun to photograph because the light was beautiful every direction I turned.
It also helped that the ceremony was in the middle of a pasture and that it was timed perfectly with the rising of a full moon. So the light, the moon, the people, the red tail hawk crying over our heads… they all were incredible…. and unfortunately so was the wind.
The wind was very, very cold. But everyone huddled together as best as they could, and afterward we all had a greater appreciation for the big ball of fire in the sky and for the tall silver poles of fire that were on the patio and in the tent during the reception.
Congratulations, Melissa and Kevin. Good job picking such a great place and time of day to get married, and thanks for letting me document your beautiful big step forward.

Peggy Osterkamp needed photos of her latest woven art pieces for a competition… so back to the barn we went, my favorite studio, especially now that it has the skylights. I just hung up a black cloth and away we went. I don’t know that I will ever use real lights, as long as I have my favorite barn. Thanks again to Mimi, at Windrush Farm, for letting us play.
I told Peggy, this kind of photography is not my specialty, but her pieces are so interesting that I had lots of fun experimenting with the light and fiber. I especially love the first one, because it reminds me of the jelly fish exhibit at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
This is what our set-up looked like… can’t get much more simple than that.
And here is the amazing artist, who created all these beautiful pieces, trying to make the puffiness just perfect.
