So, it is cover time for Jonah’s book. They want color, veggies, something different, something to show the bounty of the farms and something to compliment the title, which is: Field Days.

This was my first attempt… any thoughts?

The one above would probably have some cropping. I don’t know if it is cover potential, but I am proud of it.

Then there is this field photo, or the one that I posted long ago…. click here.

Thanks for voting!!

Definitely loving the stand of bounty in front of the red barn for a book cover. Great space for text on top and bottom with a very strong focal point. Not sure I like it as well with the title, though. Seems like there should be a field involved. But a field itself would be too…lacking??? I’m picturing something IN the field as a subject (maybe the farmers or some crops) with limited depth of field to isolate the subject. Also, some morning or evening sun would be a big plus. You know, FIELD and DAYS.

Just another opinion. Your other pictures of veggie close-ups are wonderful, btw. Just don’t think they’re screaming book cover. I particularly like the one with the mix and the one stem bending around.

I might pick #2 – all the veggies by the barn. But, I have to say, I love the veggie-diagram on chalkboard.

I’m torn between the beets and the table against the red shed. Both are simple, striking attention-grabbers, and neither was all too obvious (like the field, which should certainly be inside the book somewhere). Great stuff!
