A wedding dress for five dollars…

Matilda got this wedding dress for five dollars from a thrift store in Maine last summer.

When she gets married she wants to have an all vintage wedding

And she wants to wear this dress.

Matilda is in the second grade.

The dress will have to wait.

  6. Where did you find such a beautiful little girl? What lovely photos! Why is a 2nd grader thinking about her wedding?

  7. Matilda is our friends’ daughter. Arann and I stopped by to pick up his amp from a gig the night before. We were just hanging out and Matilda showed me her dress. I had my camera in the car… so we just decided to take a few photots.

She is the toddler with a doll on my website… and five years later she is still just as beautiful inside and out.

  8. Paige- Your blog is looking fantastic and it is an inspiration to me. I will strive to tell more stories on mine. These shots of Matilda are just so very beautiful and innocent. All the shots are great actually. I really like how you documented Christmas in such a personal way. I also really like what you wrote about photography and astrology but I can’t imagine why you wouldn’t want to be a photographer. You are just starting and you are so good! What a good idea to just say it- say what you want to do most, and the work will come.
Is that really herbicide on the tree? It looks like a light sprinkling of snow.

  10. it was so amazing to watch you shoot these photos. there really was no messing with matilda’s focus – this is an 8 year old who can hold it down.

and they are simply, a hearty, love filled, beautiful family.

  12. I keep coming back to look at these photos. They are stunning. Paige. You are so talented at capturing that little piece of a person that they love but maybe are embarrassed to flaunt. You find that little nugget of truth and brag it for them.
